Helping to combat summer learning loss with the South Shore YMCA

Updated: Mar 24, 2020

Summer programs help kids make new friends, discover new talents, build character and actively explore their imagination.

We can't wait for summer at Camp Quirk and Camp Gordon Clark! Since 2014, WCFK has partnered with the South Shore Y to provide specialty summer programs to kids in Quincy, Hanover, Norwell, and beyond. We're proud to be a part of the YMCA's tradition of providing high quality summer camp experiences to kids while enhancing offerings to include hands-on STEAM experiences!

Camp Gordon Clark in Hanover, located at the Emilson Y, offers traditional, art, sports, Match Point Tennis Academy and specialty enrichment camps for children ages 3.5 to 15 years old.
“We have also expanded our specialty camps, thanks to Wicked Cool for Kids and Playwell Tek, to include Rocket Science, Cool Med School, Harry Potter Engineering, and a whole collection of STEAM based programs,” said Camp Director Christopher Crossen-Sills.
At Camp Quirk, counselors will lead traditional, specialty enrichment, sports and art camps for children ages 4 to 15 at Snug Harbor Elementary School.
“Camp Quirk is a place where you are able to create the best summer experience for your child,” said Camp Director Phil Gay. “Our counselors are young adult role models, who facilitate fun for our campers while boosting confidence, self-esteem, social skills and emotional intelligence. We thank Mr. Quirk for ensuring a bright future for the children of Quincy for years to come.”
